After weeks and weeks of anticipation, it’s finally here! Is everyone ready for Free Comic Book Day 2016? We’ve been preparing to make this our biggest & best FCBD event yet, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you. To make it an awesome experience for all attendees, we’ve put together a little FAQ:
What exactly is Free Comic Book Day?
For fifteen years now, stores world-wide have been celebrating “Free Comic Book Day” to promote reading and collecting comics. (If you’d like to read more about it, the official website is a good starting point.) Basically, we love comics and want to share that love with you!
When and where is it?
It’s this Saturday, May 7th, 10am–5pm, at Wonderland Comics in Penfield. Our doors will open to the public promptly at 10am; before that, we will be busily setting up for your arrival, so we appreciate your patience until then.
Which comics are free?
Comic publishers have printed a diverse selection of comics — for all age groups and interests — especially for the Free Comic Book Day event, and we will have them available for you. We’ve also picked out a number of extra comic titles to add to the mix. To make it easy, we will have a designated table set up with the comics that are part of the promotion. (They are clearly marked with the blue “Free Comic Book Day” logo on the cover.) Our fantastic staff will be happy to help if you have any questions.
How many free comics can I have?
Every year, the awareness of and attendance on Free Comic Book Day have grown, and we anticipate this year will be the same. With that in mind, we want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy the event, so we ask that you please limit your choice to the one or two issues that you’re most excited to read.
Can I bring the kids?
Yes, absolutely. We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly store, and in fact we’ll have tons of comics designed just for younger readers. We also carry a wide range of science and activity kits, games, and books for kids, so there will be lots to look at. Bring the entire family!
Can I update my pull list while I’m there?
If you have changes to make to your list, please email us; we expect Saturday to be very busy. Emailing updates will ensure that we get to your requests correctly and efficiently. Thank you in advance for understanding!
I just saw Captain America: Civil War and I’m pumped! Are spoilers allowed?
Please hold off on the spoilers for now — our staff has actually been so busy getting ready for Free Comic Book Day and our Comic Book Show & Sale on May 21st that we may not have gotten a chance to see the movie yet. Be considerate of your fellow fans so that we can all enjoy any plot twists or surprises at our own pace. It’s appreciated!
