Thank you so much to all of you who stopped by for 2016’s Free Comic Book Day on Saturday. It was wonderful to see so many new and returning faces, and we hope you had a fantastic time! Now that you’ve had a small taste of what our shop has to offer, we’re happy to help with any additional questions you may have.

Maybe you picked up a publisher’s sampler pack with a series that really intrigued you, or maybe that new Big Two book reminded you of an old favorite that you’d like to re-read. Perhaps you’re unfamiliar with comics in general and would like some suggestions on where to start; or maybe that explosive new blockbuster movie sparked an interest in learning about a particular character. Maybe it’s all of the above — or something else entirely.

We would be happy to guide you with any of that! We carry a full line of trade paperbacks and hardcovers, we always strive to maintain a comprehensive back issue stock, and we offer a pull service for those of you looking to pick up new issues on a regular basis. Just let us know what we can do for you.

Don’t forget that our Spring 2016 Comic Book Show & Sale is fast approaching. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 21st, 10am–4pm, and check our events page for more information. If you like sales, giveaways, and tons of awesome comics to look at (and possibly add to your collection), this is the show for you.

After weeks and weeks of anticipation, it’s finally here! Is everyone ready for Free Comic Book Day 2016? We’ve been preparing to make this our biggest & best FCBD event yet, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you. To make it an awesome experience for all attendees, we’ve put together a little FAQ:

What exactly is Free Comic Book Day?
For fifteen years now, stores world-wide have been celebrating “Free Comic Book Day” to promote reading and collecting comics. (If you’d like to read more about it, the official website is a good starting point.) Basically, we love comics and want to share that love with you!

When and where is it?
It’s this Saturday, May 7th, 10am–5pm, at Wonderland Comics in Penfield. Our doors will open to the public promptly at 10am; before that, we will be busily setting up for your arrival, so we appreciate your patience until then.

Which comics are free?
Comic publishers have printed a diverse selection of comics — for all age groups and interests — especially for the Free Comic Book Day event, and we will have them available for you. We’ve also picked out a number of extra comic titles to add to the mix. To make it easy, we will have a designated table set up with the comics that are part of the promotion. (They are clearly marked with the blue “Free Comic Book Day” logo on the cover.) Our fantastic staff will be happy to help if you have any questions.

How many free comics can I have?
Every year, the awareness of and attendance on Free Comic Book Day have grown, and we anticipate this year will be the same. With that in mind, we want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy the event, so we ask that you please limit your choice to the one or two issues that you’re most excited to read.

Can I bring the kids?
Yes, absolutely. We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly store, and in fact we’ll have tons of comics designed just for younger readers. We also carry a wide range of science and activity kits, games, and books for kids, so there will be lots to look at. Bring the entire family!

Can I update my pull list while I’m there?
If you have changes to make to your list, please email us; we expect Saturday to be very busy. Emailing updates will ensure that we get to your requests correctly and efficiently. Thank you in advance for understanding!

I just saw Captain America: Civil War and I’m pumped! Are spoilers allowed?
Please hold off on the spoilers for now — our staff has actually been so busy getting ready for Free Comic Book Day and our Comic Book Show & Sale on May 21st that we may not have gotten a chance to see the movie yet. Be considerate of your fellow fans so that we can all enjoy any plot twists or surprises at our own pace. It’s appreciated!

The crew at Wonderland Comics wish to thank you for attending our Fall 2015 Comic Book Show & Sale! We appreciate each and every one of our attendees (young and old, new to comics and the old hats, the casual reader just there for the great stories and art, and the enthusiastic collector looking to complete a high-grade collection, and everyone in between) because without you, it just wouldn’t have been as much fun. Whatever your interest, we hope you had a ton of fun digging through long boxes and rubbing elbows with your fellow collectors and fans — especially because we did, too!

Our next event is tentatively scheduled for May, 2016, with the exact date to be determined after the new year. (Keep an eye on our events page for details as they’re firmed up.) If you have any comments or suggestions on how to make our Spring 2016 show even bigger and better than before, please don’t hesitate to email us; we’re always looking for feedback on how to make your experience even more enjoyable.

Hope you’re psyched — today (Saturday, October 24th) is the day for our Fall 2015 Comic Book Show & Sale! We are set up at the American Legion Hall in Penfield (right up the street from the store), 10am–4pm with a variety of vendors with comics new and vintage, so there will be something for everyone. Admission is $1 for adults and free for children under 12 with paying adult.

Everyone at Wonderland Comics would like to thank you again for attending our Spring 2015 Comic Book Show & Sale. We had a fantastic turnout, with comic book fans of every description, of all ages and interests, joining us to share the enjoyment and fun of this hobby. (It’s infectious!) Whether you were just chatting, picking out a stack of $1 comics, getting that two-for-one graphic novel set you’ve been waiting for, or filling a hole in your collection with a gorgeous high-grade copy of your favorite series, we hope that you had a blast. (We know we did!)

Didn’t find what you were looking for, or have suggestions for our next show? Let us know! We’re always on the hunt for fulfilling customer requests, even between showtimes, and we want you to leave happy and satisfied with your experience.

Our Fall 2015 show is currently planned for sometime in October, with the exact date to be announced once it is confirmed. Details will be available on our events page as we get them firmed up, so keep an eye on that.

We’re just hours away from our Spring 2015 Comic Book Show & Sale, tomorrow, May 16th, which is once again @ the American Legion Hall in Penfield. All of us have been working overtime to make this our most exciting and fun-filled show yet, and you’re invited!

Show doors will be open 10am–4pm; admission for adults is just $1.00, and kids get in free, so bring the whole family! In addition to a fantastic selection of comics both new and old from a variety of vendors, we’ll also be doing giveaways and special promotions all day. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to pick up something new to read, fill that hole in your collection with a hard-to-find vintage gem, or just to mingle with other comic fans. We’ll have something for everyone.

Try as we might, we can’t fit our entire store in the Legion Hall, so don’t forget that our main location will be open 10am–5pm as well. We’ll have even more comics to browse through, plus books, archival supplies, science and activity kits for the kids, and beyond. Swing by after the show!

Yes! We have received confirmation via intergalatic communique that the Garrison Excelsior of the 501st Legion will once again graciously deploy some of their troops to help us out with Free Comic Book Day. We expect them to be available 10:30am–1pm, so please plan ahead.

If you or someone you know is a Star Wars fan (and between the exciting new movie teasers and the spectacular comics relaunch, who isn’t??), you’ll want to make sure to stop in on Saturday for photo ops and mingling with the fantastic members of this professional costuming group. We’re very excited to have them aboard!
