Whew! We’ve made it to the end of our Spring 2014 show, and it was wonderful! Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by — without you, it wouldn’t have been as much fun!

If you couldn’t make it to the show this time ’round, don’t fret! The details aren’t finalized yet, but we will be hosting another show sometime in October. Keep an eye on this website for more information and an exact date. In the meantime, our store is open six days a week and features an even larger selection of fantastic comics (plus supplies, science & activity kits for the kids, nature items, and more). You won’t be disappointed!

For those of you who did stop by, we would love to hear from you, too! Comments, suggestions, and constructive criticism are all welcome; we want to know what we can do to ensure the next show is even better. Let us know in person, via email, or you can leave comments on this very post (no registration necessary). Your feedback is important to us!

Once again, we have tons of awesome stuff available, including but not limited to half-price trade paperbacks, boxes upon boxes of $1 comics, a fantastic selection of Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age back issues, and giveaways for the kids. (And, yes, the store is open normal hours today, 10am–5pm, so be sure to stop by there after the show.) Trust us — you won’t want to miss this!

Saturday, May 17th
10am–4pm
American Legion Hall @ 1707 Penfield Road
$1 admission for adults; children under 12 are free

We will have tons of awesome stuff available, including but not limited to half-price trade paperbacks, boxes upon boxes of $1 comics, a fantastic selection of Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age back issues, giveaways for the kids, and more! There will also be a number of other vendors as well, so you’re sure to see something that interests you.

Are you ready for Free Comic Book Day 2014? We’ve been preparing to make this our biggest FCBD event yet, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you. To make it an awesome experience for all attendees, we’ve put together a little FAQ:

What exactly is Free Comic Book Day?
For more than ten years, stores world-wide have been celebrating “Free Comic Book Day” to promote reading and collecting comics. (If you’d like to read more about it, the official website is a good starting point.) Basically, we love comics and want to share that love with you!

When and where is it?
It’s tomorrow, Saturday, May 3rd, 10am–5pm, at Wonderland Comics. Our doors will open promptly at ten; before that, we will be setting up for your arrival, so we appreciate your patience until then!

Which comics are free?
Comic publishers have printed a diverse selection of comics — for all age groups and interests — especially for the Free Comic Book Day event, and we will have them available for you. We’ve also picked out a number of extra comic titles to add to the mix. To make it easy, we will have a designated table set up with all the comics that are part of the promotion.

How many free comics can I have?
Every year, the awareness of and attendance on Free Comic Book Day has grown, and we anticipate this year will be the same. With that in mind, we want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy the event, so we ask that you please limit your choice to the one or two issues that you’re most excited to read.

Can I bring the kids?
Yes, absolutely. We pride ourselves on being a kid-friendly store, and in fact we’ll have tons of comics designed just for them. We also carry a wide range of science and activity kits, games, and books for the younger generation, so there will be lots to look at. Bring the entire family!

So you mentioned “visitors from a galaxy far, far away”….
That’s right! Garrison Excelsior of the 501st Legion has graciously deployed some of their troops to help us out with Free Comic Book Day. If you or someone you know is a Star Wars fan (and with the recent announcement regarding the upcoming movie, it’s a great time to be one!), you’ll want to make sure to stop in on Saturday for photo ops and mingling with the fantastic members of this professional costuming group. We’re very excited to have them aboard.
