Whew! We made it to the end of another fantastically successful Free Comic Book Day. Thank you to everyone who stopped in, and to the 501st Legion for their participation — without you, the event just wouldn’t have been as much fun!

If you couldn’t make it out this time, our Spring Comic Book Show & Sale is coming up in just under two weeks, on Saturday, May 17th @ the American Legion Hall in Penfield. We’ll have more comics, more books, more giveaways, and more sales for you. Don’t miss this one!

Are you ready for Free Comic Book Day 2014? We’ve been preparing to make this our biggest FCBD event yet, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you. To make it an awesome experience for all attendees, we’ve put together a little FAQ:

What exactly is Free Comic Book Day?
For more than ten years, stores world-wide have been celebrating “Free Comic Book Day” to promote reading and collecting comics. (If you’d like to read more about it, the official website is a good starting point.) Basically, we love comics and want to share that love with you!

When and where is it?
It’s tomorrow, Saturday, May 3rd, 10am–5pm, at Wonderland Comics. Our doors will open promptly at ten; before that, we will be setting up for your arrival, so we appreciate your patience until then!

Which comics are free?
Comic publishers have printed a diverse selection of comics — for all age groups and interests — especially for the Free Comic Book Day event, and we will have them available for you. We’ve also picked out a number of extra comic titles to add to the mix. To make it easy, we will have a designated table set up with all the comics that are part of the promotion.

How many free comics can I have?
Every year, the awareness of and attendance on Free Comic Book Day has grown, and we anticipate this year will be the same. With that in mind, we want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy the event, so we ask that you please limit your choice to the one or two issues that you’re most excited to read.

Can I bring the kids?
Yes, absolutely. We pride ourselves on being a kid-friendly store, and in fact we’ll have tons of comics designed just for them. We also carry a wide range of science and activity kits, games, and books for the younger generation, so there will be lots to look at. Bring the entire family!

So you mentioned “visitors from a galaxy far, far away”….
That’s right! Garrison Excelsior of the 501st Legion has graciously deployed some of their troops to help us out with Free Comic Book Day. If you or someone you know is a Star Wars fan (and with the recent announcement regarding the upcoming movie, it’s a great time to be one!), you’ll want to make sure to stop in on Saturday for photo ops and mingling with the fantastic members of this professional costuming group. We’re very excited to have them aboard.

Hello, everyone!

It’s been a busy spring for us so far this year! We want to thank everyone who came out to see us @ Ithacon 39 and the Kids Fair & Expo 2014. We had tons of fun seeing some familiar faces and meeting lots of new ones, too. Our science kits, Klutz kits, games, and workbooks were a big hit with families (and that’s just a small example of everything we offer in-store)!

Missed us at either event? Now is the time to mark your calendars for our upcoming ones!

First up is Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 3rd, 10am–5pm — rumor has it that we’ll be getting visitors from a galaxy far, far away to help us pass out free comics.

Two weeks after that is our Spring 2014 Comic Book Show & Sale on Saturday, May 17th, 10am–4pm. Once again, we will be at the American Legion Hall (just down the road from the store), and admission is only $1.00 for adults (kids under 12 are free!). We’re very excited to be unveiling a recently-acquired collection of beautiful Silver & Golden Age comics that will be available for purchase that day. You won’t want to miss this show!

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend, so bring the family over to the Kids Expo & Fair 2014 in Webster, NY and burn off some energy!

Hours are 10am–5pm, Saturday, April 12th & Sunday, April 13th; admission information can be found at the official website. We will have a booth set up on both days with a sampling of all the neat kids-centric things we have to offer — from Klutz activity kits to comics, from science kits to fun learning games, and more.
